I’m Gary Reiss — an assignment-ready photographer based in Spokane capturing people, places, and the quiet moments in between.
I believe still photography is time travel. When you slow down and really look, a single frame can return you to one exact moment—how the air felt, the way someone’s eyes held a story, the hush before the ocean breaks. That quiet is what I chase.
My work centers on people doing what they love and the places that shape them—street portraits, travel, underwater scenes, and wild spaces from Belize’s canopy to mountain towns out West. I make honest images with minimal staging, the way it really was, so you can feel it later.
Based in Spokane, available worldwide. Reliable on deadline, easy to work with, and geared for travel. Let’s make something that lasts.
I started with curiosity—science class, tide pools, and a camera that let me hold on to a single second. That habit never left. Today I work where stories live: streets, coastlines, studios, and the spaces where people chase what they love.
I’ve photographed 500+ weddings, which taught me to work fast, stay invisible, and anticipate moments and catch emotion. That same discipline guides my editorial and travel work—minimal staging, natural light when possible, and images that feel like the moment itself.
Recent work spans the Pacific Northwest and Belize—street portraits, travel features, and underwater scenes—always looking for quiet detail and a sense of place. My aim is simple: pictures you can feel.
Available worldwide. Reliable, collaborative, and ready to work.
