Stories
Places have stories. People have stories. Photography gives us a way to remember them.
I like to spend time in a place rather than simply pass through it. These stories bring together photographs, people, places and moments to create a deeper look at the world as I experience it.
The Character of a Place
Every destination has a personality. It can be found in the streets, the architecture, the people, the food, the light and the small moments that happen when nobody is watching.
This ongoing collection explores the character of places through the people who live there and the details that make each destination unique.
Faces of the Street
Street photography is often about the moment when a stranger becomes a story.
These portraits and observations explore the people who give cities and communities their character.
Built for the City
Buildings tell stories too. Their lines, textures, age and relationship to the people around them can reveal something about the places they occupy.
A collection of architecture and urban life photographed in context.
When the Music Starts
There is a unique connection between musicians and an audience — a shared energy that exists only in the moment and disappears almost as quickly as it arrives.
These photographs explore that relationship through the atmosphere of live music, the intensity of the performers, the response of the audience and the moments surrounding the show. I look for the emotion, movement and unexpected interactions that make each performance its own story.
Wild Spaces
Some stories don't need words. A landscape, an animal, a change in light or a moment beneath the surface can say everything.
From mountain towns and wild spaces in the American West to underwater environments and tropical landscapes, this collection explores the places where nature takes center stage.
